KPID: Supervision of Television Shows Tightened

The rivalry to get the highest audiences make some television channels vying to show the most attracting performances. Unfortunately, the shows aired often violate the rules, such as showing violence and vulgar.

"Our duty is supervising the content and broadcast aired in broadcasting institutes which are appropriate and safe for people," said Head of Jakarta Broadcasting Commission (KPID), Adil Quarta Anggoro, Thursday (8/6). 

According to Anggoro, if they are proven violating the rules, they will get a sanction. Ranging from three times of warning letter until reducing broadcast duration and the temporary discontinuation of the program. 

Next Year, 18 Digital TV Channels Ready to Airs

"The heaviest sanction given to the Yuk Keep Smile (YKS) program on Trans TV which is considered insulting icon of Jakarta," he expressed. 

He added, each show should refer to code of conduct of broadcasting and standard program.
